Email campaigns are a great way to reach a wider audience and build a meaningful relationship with your customers. However, what happens when the recipients don’t open your emails? In that case, you can use MailChimp to resend an email to all your subscribers that didn’t open it the first time.

How To Send a Campaign to Unopened in Mailchimp

In this article, we’ll go through the process of resending an email campaign to people that never opened your emails. We’ll also show you how to do it on the Mailchimp mobile app.

How to Resend an Unopened Email on Mailchimp

Mailchimp uses data to identify which subscribers didn’t open your emails. Instead of having to resend the same campaign to all your subscribers, you’ll know exactly which group to target. If you choose to resend unopened emails to your customers, you will boost the open and engagement rates. Knowing how to resend an email to recipients that didn’t open it can be extremely useful when the email contains important information about your business.

If you want to resend an email on Mailchimp, this is what you need to do.

  1. Visit Mailchimp on your browser and Log in to your account.
  2. Click on the “Campaigns” tab in the upper-left corner of your screen.
  3. Choose the audience under “Current audience” and locate the email you want to resend.
  4. Click on “View Report” on the left and Go to “Replicate.” A copy of the sent email will appear on a new page.
  5. Click on “Edit name” and give the email a new name, then choose “Save.”
  6. Proceed to the “Edit Recipients” button underneath.
  7. Select “Group or new segment” under “Segment or Tag.”
  8. Choose “All” next to “Contacts match.”
  9. For “Subscriber Data,” go to “Campaign Activity” and “did not open” in the next tab.
  10. Locate the campaign you want to resend under “Sent Campaigns,”.
  11. Click to “Save” to save your Recipients.

Once you save the changes, Mailchimp will show you the new number of recipients (called non-openers). From this point, you have the option to resend the email right away, schedule when you’ll send it, or finish it later.

The schedule option is handy because it lets you wait a couple of days in case more people open the original email. You can schedule the delivery date and the exact time. Mailchimp also lets you send the email in bulk or in separate batches to avoid the website crashing. It even gives you an option to send different batches five or more minutes apart. When you’re done, just click on the Schedule Campaign button in the bottom-left corner of the window.

You can use this method to resend different types of emails, such as regular plain-text emails, multivariate emails, and A/B testing emails. You can change the subject of the email, but that isn’t necessary. However, it does help “trick” Gmail into thinking it’s a brand-new email. If you want to make sure to attract your subscribers’ attention the second time, think of a catchy subject that will get them to open the email campaign this time around.

Before you start resending unopened emails, there are a couple of things you should keep in mind. If you resend the unopened email too soon, it might result in the recipients unsubscribing to your email campaign. For this reason, you need to be careful about the timing. It’s generally advised to wait a couple of days before resending an email. You should also only resend important emails that are valuable to your campaign and your business. Don’t clutter your subscribers’ inboxes with spam for no reason.

Once you resend your email campaign, you can keep track of the engagement rates on the Reports page.

How to Resend an Unopened Email from the Mailchimp Mobile App

You can also resend an unopened email on the Mailchimp mobile app. It’s available on Google Play and the App Store. Here’s what you need to do to resend an email to subscribers that didn’t open it the first time.

  1. Launch the Mailchimp app on your mobile device.
  2. Navigate to the “Reports” tab.
  3. Locate the email campaign you want to resend.
You’ll be able to see how many recipients opened the email and how many clicked on it to take some sort of action.
  4. Tap on the “Resend to non-openers” option. The exact number of non-openers will be available here.
  5. Go to “Edit and Resend” to make any necessary changes.
  6. Tap and hold the “Resend” button.

That’s all there is to it. As you can see, resending an email campaign that wasn’t opened just takes a couple of seconds. This process is much more detailed on the web browser, where you can edit the email campaign to a greater extent. The mobile app is a better option if you’re in a hurry or don’t want to edit the email campaign before resending it.

If you want, you can also turn on marketing tips on the Mailchimp mobile app. Enabling this option allows Mailchimp to send you notifications about your audience and the exact number of people that didn’t respond to it without you having to check manually.

Make Sure Your Subscribers Read Your Emails

If some of your subscribers didn’t open your email, don’t worry. You can resend it using Mailchimp. Instead of sending an unopened email one by one, Mailchimp lets you send your email to everyone that didn’t open it the first time. Resending emails is guaranteed to boost engagement rates, maintain a good relationship with your customers, and keep recipients informed about your newest products or services.

Have you ever resent an unopened email on Mailchimp before? Did you follow the same steps from this guide, or did you use an alternative method? Let us know in the comments section below.
